It's 5.55am and I'm awake by choice.

The body clock has definitely not adjust properly yet to time on this side of the world!

So since I'm wide awake and it's hours til breakfast, I may as well do more blog!

Yesterday, what happened? Well after another lovely breakfast on the rooftop, on a decidedly more overcast and cool morning, we headed for the Topkapi Palace.

Basically the palace is massive and insane. Room after room of high domed ceilings and walls covered in ceramic tiles, large open courtyards, and five exhibitions: 'the treasury' filled with gems and gem encrusted items from the Ottoman empire; a weapons collection (Greg's favourite); a collection of Kaftans and various clothes from the royal family, a collection of portraits of the Sultans; and lastly the "Islamic relics collection" with various items such as pieces of Muhammad's beard and apparently Moses' staff and Joseph's turban, among other things. It was interesting, although I am somewhat sceptical about the legitimacy of some of the things...

Written descriptions can't really do it justice, so I'll put up some photos!

At the final section of the palace there were some amazing views of Istanbul!

And then it was time for lunch! Will post more later!
